Perhaps some of you have seen this guard? He is unlike the others in many ways.
His name is Jungleer Rush, and he is the Sergeant of the Guard in Solheimer.
He wears an eye-patch, and a scar that shows the reason for it.
But is this so unusual? Perhaps you've seen many with the scars of battle. No, this isn't so unusual.
Perhaps it's his elven features that have you wondering?
When you first see him, you most likely wonder, as this person does,.."An Elf!!..in the Solheimer guard??!!".
"How is this possible?!", you ask, right?
Well, the answer to these questions, my friend, are far and few. And will leave you asking more questions with no answers forthcoming.
If you ask the average citizen, they immediately tell you in a hushed tone, to never speak of his elven features in his presence,.. or face his scorn.
"Never seen an elf like that one before..a bearded one at that!"
Some say he's especially mean, unusually brutal and to never cross him or you will find yourself in stocks or worse.
"He can be cruel hearted and relentless! He's got a Dragon's spirit!"
And, if you ask the eldest of Solheimer, they will tell you; "The Sgt of the Guard has been so for as long as I can recall and he's never given any cause to doubt his loyalty to Solheimer. The
Emperor himself trusts him, and that's good enough for me. And don't let his distaste for authority fool ya!"
The Council and other elders of Solheimer seem to place an unusual trust in him. How else could he be a member of the guard?
And they certainly never speak of him in any public discourse.
One thing that is well understood by those who know him...He hates the elves with an unrelenting passion. So much so, that the slightest error in judgment by an unknown elf in the realm of Solheimer could mean unusual and often extreme punishment.
So, dear reader, do not question his loyalty, and the Sgt of the Guard will be your best ally when you call upon him to do his duty!
Oh, and don't ask him about the scar! Not that it upsets him, mind you, he just won't give you the straight story about it, or worse, a long and involved one!
The Captain of the Guard often jokes that it was a drinking accident.
And the youngest orcs are floating a rumor about that it was a flying device made of paper that took his eye.
With so many questions left unanswered, we can assume only that the trust the Emperor and Council place in him is to be honored.
